This post is long-overdue since I've always felt like all these websites are well-known among both English teachers and learners. 🤔 However, I still get asked about some of these all the time, that's why let me make this compilation final and list here all of those that I use on a regular basis for multiple purposes but mostly English-related, of course! 👩‍💻 1. GetYarn.io - https://getyarn.io This is that very website where bloggers find examples from TV shows! Now you possess this super power too! 😄 Not always super convenient, but you can make it work. 👩‍💻 2. Forvo.com - https://forvo.com That dictionary where you can listen to various native speakers from different countries and with different accents pronounce the words FOR REAL, not the robotic voice of Cambridge Dictionary or others. 👩‍💻 3. Inogolo.com - https://inogolo.com An absolute gem. You can listen to the way proper nouns are pronounced, such as celebrity names, geographical locations, brands and others. 👩‍💻 4. Ororo.tv - https://ororo.tv/ru Who needs Netflix if you have this?! Seriously, the best website of this sort. An enormous collection of TV shows and movies, all with subs and even an embedded translator. Wouldn't trade my subscription for anything else. 👩‍💻 5. Thesaurus - https://www.thesaurus.com In case somebody only uses dictionaries, did you know that thesaurus is an incredible source of synonyms that can help you get the context for a word way better than translation ever can? 👩‍💻 6. Lyrics training - https://lyricstraining.com Warning: this is addictive! Just give this link to your students and see them spend their evenings practicing listening! 😄 👩‍💻 7. Quodb.com - http://www.quodb.com Like #1 but shows you written quotes from movies that contain desired vocabulary item, isn't brilliant? 👩‍💻 8. Dopeoplesay.com - https://dopeoplesay.com A similar service which uses Reddit as the source of example sentences and this instills some certainty in us that the examples are up-to-date, right? 👩‍💻 9. Quickdraw - https://quickdraw.withgoogle.com This used to be go-to website whenever I taught kids and we had some extra 2-3 minutes or I had to reward them for great behaviour. Just try it, also super addictive! 👩‍💻 10. Youglish.com I don't know if this one even needs an introduction, but once again, please. use this website all the time! 😅 To check the pronunciation, the difference in accents, to double check what's written in dictionaries and to see different context for words and collocations. #discoverenglishteaching#compilation#websites#sharingiscaring#websitelist
